Baseball Fundraising

Deep Run Baseball has 3 primary annual fundraisers.  All proceeds from baseball fundraisers benefit Deep Run Baseball facility improvements.

  1. Annual Cow Plop Fundraiser (AA, AAA, Majors Divisions)
  2. Deep Run @ Iron Pigs or Phillies
  3. Parents Night Out @ German Club

Why does Deep Run Baseball have fundraisers?

  • The annual DRVSA club membership fee per family covers insurance, electricity, heating, mowing, lawn applications, administrative and legal fees, insurance, and infrastructure improvements.
  • Individual program registration fees (ex. AA Division) cover the expenses associated with routine AA field maintenance (infield mix, soil conditioner, overseeding, drag machines, field tools, line machines, etc), player equipment (baseballs, catchers gear, helmets, bats, bases, base plugs, hitting nets, pitching rubbers, etc), Jr. umpire fees, league fees, uniforms, and coaches shirts & hats.  We aim to keep prices as low as possible while still providing an excellent experience
  • Baseball fundraising affords us the opportunity to continuously make improvements to our baseball facilities (scoreboards, fencing, dugouts, bullpens, batting cages, new field turf, re-leveling fields, lighting, sound systems, drag machines, gators, etc).

Cow Plop Fundraiser: How it Works

  • Each player in the AA, AAA, and Majors Divisions participates in our Cow Plop Fundraiser. A $50 fee is added during Spring registration. Players receive 5 Cow Plop tickets (valued at $10 each) to sell. This helps families recoup the fee while supporting Deep Run. Need more tickets? Contact Chuck Roller at croller@drvsa.org.
  • This fundraising approach, similar to other baseball organizations, helps us raise funds for capital improvements without increasing registration fees. It empowers our families and players to directly contribute to enhancing the Deep Run experience for current and future players.
  • In May, a cow will be brought to Deep Run and will roam a designated 50'x40' area. Wherever the cow makes its "deposit" determines the winning spot! You don't need to be present to win.
  • Prizes include:
    • WINNING DEED RECEIVES 20% up to $4K
    • Seller of winning deed receives $250
    • Closest neighbor wins $500
    • 2nd closest neighbor wins $250
    • Player who sells the most deeds $150
    • 2nd highest seller $100
    • 3rd highest seller $50

Deep Run Day at the Iron Pigs or Phillies

  • Each spring, Deep Run baseball families head to either Coca-Cola Park in Allentown or Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia for a special baseball outing. Players get the chance to go onto the field and meet some of the players before the game. It's a great way for families to enjoy a day of baseball together
  • Proceeds from each ticket sold help support improvements to Deep Run's baseball facilities.

Deep Run Parents Night Out!

  • Join us for a Parents Night Out at the German Hungarian Club in Hilltown, PA, as we wrap up the Deep Run Baseball Spring season! The event is held late in the spring and costs $50 per person or $90 per couple.
  • Games, Music, Food, and Drinks!
  • All proceeds benefits Deep Run baseball facility improvements.

WHAT BASEBALL FACILITY IMPROVEMENTS WILL BE MADE IN 2025?

  • 4 new batting cages with lighting will be installed at the Majors Field ($15K+).  This will allow more teams to practice hitting and pitching both during the day and late into evening after dark.

WHAT FUTURE BASEBALL FACILITY IMPROVEMENTS DO WE HOPE TO MAKE?

  • LIGHTS!!!  This is a large expense ($100K+) and requires Township approval, but it would give us more field time during the busy Spring season.  Plus, who doesn't enjoy a game under the lights on a warm Spring, Summer, or Fall night!
  • Backstop padding on all fields
  • Re-sod Connie Mack and Majors fields + installation of a sprinkler system to keep the turf in good condition year-round
  • Improved drainage on Connie Mack field (reduce infield erosion and ponding of water).  This will result in a resilient field that bounces back quickly from heavy rain.

Have ideas on how we can make improvements?  Contact the Baseball Board at baseball@drvsa.org or join us for our monthly baseball meetings at 7pm on the first Tuesday of every month in the Deep Run Clubhouse (upstairs).
